About Margaret Hambleton, MBA, CHC, CHPC
Ms. Hambleton, President of Hambleton Compliance LLC, has been in the healthcare compliance business for more than 20 years. She has tackled roles as Chief Compliance Officer for large integrated health systems providing services in multi-state geographies. Through this experience, she is recognized as an industry thought leader and highly sought after speaker and collaborator.
She has a very well-rounded understanding of operations, having served in leadership roles in risk management, human resources, and insurance operations. Her expertise has been called on by many, including addressing the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and other government agencies. Margaret is also the immediate past President and current member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) supporting and promoting integrity programs nationally and internationally.
Margaret previously served as Vice President and Corporate Compliance Officer for Dignity Health. Her responsibilities included managing all aspects of the Compliance and Internal Audit operations, with responsibility for ensuring and developing effective, cohesive, and transparent compliance strategies for the organization.
Ms. Hambleton ensured that appropriate and effective goals were developed, implemented, and monitored in accordance with governmental standards and requirements, and the organization's mission and values. She regularly reported to the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board on the effectiveness of the program and materially significant compliance risks to the organization. Formerly, she was the Senior Vice President of Ministry Integrity and Chief Compliance Officer for St. Joseph Health System in Irvine, CA. Her responsibilities included oversight of the Corporate Responsibility Programs throughout the health system.
About Dawnese Kindelt, CHC, CHPC
Dawnese Kindelt, Founding Partner of Hambleton Compliance, LLC., offers clients more than 30 years of health care experience, including operations, revenue cycle, coding, auditing, and integrity program development and oversight. Her career evolved from physician practice management to compliance in 1998 when she was called to leverage her expertise to investigate and respond to qui tam allegations of coding and revenue cycle errors. With that one phone call from a hospital president, a new course was charted for Dawnese and the organization. She successfully created and implemented a multi-clinic compliance program. The organization maintained and matured the program while committed to corporate integrity agreement requirements. Subsequently, the program was then replicated across three states, to include free-standing and provider based clinics and residency programs. Prior to joining Hambleton Compliance, she served as a Senior Director for Dignity Health with responsibility for hospitals, clinics, physicians, and innovative payment models created through the Affordable Care Act.
Dawnese is active in the Healthcare Compliance Association (HCCA) serving on the Compliance Certification Board. She is a sought after speaker on topics including physician compliance, OIG Work Plan, EHR risk mitigation, compliance program implementation and monitoring, revenue cycle management, non-physician practitioner compliance, risk assessment and audit plan development, and population health management compliance.
